Liposuction regions
Abdomen
The abdomen is usually sub-divided into the upper and lower regions. Generally, the entire region is evacuated in order to attain a homogenous silhouette. However, extractions may occur in specific regions. The small incisions are mostly made above the groin.
See the general section for further information.
Hips
The hips are well-suited to liposuction, and in saying so, one must also consider the transition to the buttocks, back and abdomen in order to achieve a homogenous result.
See the general section for further information.
Buttocks
The contour of the buttocks is particularly susceptible to its positioning, and may often be considered objectionable in various cases and difficult to redress through dieting and exercise.
Here the goal must be to achieve a rounded bottom with pleasing curves. When too much fat is extracted, the buttocks appear flat or succumbing to gravity. An appropriate measure of extraction sees both the amont of fat depleted and the skin tautened.
See the general section for further information.
Thighs
The thighs are sub-divided in different regions, and are treated as the outer sides (saddle bags), the inner sides and the rear with its transition to the buttocks. An individual evaluation will decide on the volume that may be extracted in order to target the goal of a harmonious silhouette.
See the general section for further information.
Knees
Unwanted fatty deposits on the insides of the knees are usually quite stubborn. Liposuction, however, achieves very good results.
See the general section for further information.
Chin (double-chin)
The so-called double-chin is a common and easily treated area. An excellent tautening of the skin may be achieved where the skin condition allows. Each indication must be evaluated individually. A special bandage is to be worn 3 days after the operation in order to achieve the desired result.
See the general section for further information.
Neck
A (bull) neck may often be perceived as discomforting. An extraction in this area is easily achievable, with incisions made at the hairline. A brace then needs to be worn for a week.
See the general section for further information.
Upper arms (arms, forearms)
Only extraction at the rear is recommended when considering the upper arms. Again, this result is highly dependent on skin condition. Sometimes an excess of skin only requires attention to one arm. A corresponding gauntlet should be worn for 4 weeks.
See the general section for further information.
Back
The problematic fatty deposits are usually lodged in the posterior axilliary or at bra height. Pronounced indications may call for liposuction. This procedure should me made using fine cannulae as the dorsal skin is considerably thick and the subcutaneous tissue very tangled, to disentangle the connective tissue strands. A corset should be worn for 4 weeks after the operation.
See the general section for further information.
Male breast liposuction (Gynaecomastia)
Gynaecomastia refers to a benign hormonal breast enlargement in men that may occur in one or both sides. Here one may make a further distinction with pseudo gynaecomastia or lipomastia, where there is not a glandular proliferation but that of fatty cells.
The excess fatty cells may be extracted if (after proper medical preliminary examination) lipomastia has been be etablished.
